This months featured artist : Claire Robinson

History:
I have worked in the arts in a range of contexts over the past 20 years, from set painting and prop making for community theatre in East London, to involvement with numerous projects and groups on workshop and publiic art projects in Kent, 3 exciting and inspiring months as expedition artist with Raleigh International in Alaska, and now busy with teaching and arts project work , settled in Gloucestershire. I have exhibited paintings in London, Kent, Alaska, Herefordshire and Gloucestershire.

Method:
I am happy with a 10cm brush, and water-based paint, having work on many large scale public and community pieces, and a piece of 8 x 4 ply - though have scaled down with my own work, generally choosing to work in acrylic or watercolour on paper ( preferably hand made). I like to experiment and mix colour and materials, and constantly to try new ways of working.

Philosophy:
I am inspired by nature and drawn to wild places. More a way of working than a philosophy.... but I feel strongly that it is important to continue to work with organisations that support vulnerable planet and people in order to make a positive contribution
